
Health Occupations Students of America members from South Columbus High School attending the Southeastern Regional Conference at E. A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina on January 31st include (from left) reporter Miranda Jackson, Amanda Blanchard, Athena Donahue posing as Thunder (the SCHS mascot), and the historian Brooke Long. Jackson earns 3rd place in the Extemporaneous Speaking.
Blanchard receives 3rd place in Medical Photography and Long earns 5th place in Prepared Speaking. All three students have qualified to advance to State Competition to be held in Greensboro in April. South Columbus' HOSA advisor is Wendy Meares, RN.
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
attended the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Dallas.
Bradley Strickland, a South Columbus High School senior, recently competed in the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas on June 18-21 in the Pharmacology division. He was joined by classmate Jordan Gore who competed in the area of Medical Assisting. Both students held the number one position in the state for their respective divisions. Bradley went on to win the National Gold Medal in Pharmacology.
